Return to Tallinn (10 - 11 July)

Sunday marked the last day of camp :( and our return to Tallinn. We knew that we would be missing camp, but looking forward to hot showers, flushing toilets and proper beds! :)

Our trip back to Tallinn was uneventful. As expected, the train arrived at the station exactly on time. Although it was busier, and we couldn't sit together - it was a chance to sit in a proper chair with Wifi! We arrived at Tallinn station to more rain, and not a taxi in sight. After waiting a while (for the rain to subside and with hope of finding a taxi) we just started walking. It was not far, and we were soon back at Fat Margaret's for a hot shower! We also started the great laundry exercise - 6 people each with a week of stinky camp clothes, and a washing machine taking up to 3 hours a load!

As a treat, we then went out for dinner. The budget traveller map was on target to suggest Pizza Grande - excellent value, big serves, cheap, and not a stew or soup in sight! It was in a fantastic atmospheric old building, accessed through a courtyard, and with 80s & 90s hits playing as background music. Heading back to the hostel, we played a few rounds of cards before enjoying sleeping on a real bed!

Monday started with a dip in the pool and relaxing sauna, and DIY breakfast in the hostel. Pulling a couple of tables together, we reviewed what was learned on camp, and planned for the first session with the training board tonight.

Charlotte & Alyson made us a fantastic late lunch / early dinner of turkey burgers, and we headed into town for desert. We ended up in the Masters Courtyard for the Chocolate Cafe recommended by the receptionist at the hostel (Described as the cafe from Chocolat the movie). This amazing cafe reminded us of Harry Potter's Hog's Head Pub with cosy nooks and rich furnishings. They kindly request no photos - so you will have to come to Tallinn to find it for yourself.

We headed back to the hostel for final preparations before meeting the training board tonight and beginning Phase 2 of our project (working with the training board to revise their training programme).

Our week's camping photos are on Facebook, and watch the blog this week as we get a chance to upload the details of our adventure as it unfolded!
