Guiding Overseas Linked with Development is a programme of Girlguiding linking teams of 6 from the UK to Guide Associations overseas to work on a sustainable project. You can check out more from Girlguiding here or here.
Who are we?
We are all members of Girlguiding, aged 18-30, and committed to making a difference through Guiding in our local, national and international communities. Meet our team members Charlotte, Emily, Alyson, Katie, Margaret & Tamara on this blog.
How did we get here?
Our GOLD journey started with the Go for Gold selection weekend (Check out the Girlguiding Blog Post for an insight into the weekend!). After the selection weekend, it was a long wait until we were each advised of our selection on team Estonia 2016. Then another long wait until we finally met up and formed our team at briefing weekend #1 in February. Stay tuned to our blog for a post on our experience of the weekend.
So what now?
We each have a fundraising target to meet, training to undertake, programme to develop, resources to gather, and ultimately a project to deliver in July 2016!
